Living Liberty

Standard

Our main history text this year is The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child, Volume 3: Early Modern Times by Susan Wise Bauer. It came recommended from another local homeschool mom and is also part of our Well-Trained Mind base curriculum.  I outlined our history studies for the year so that our study of the American Revolution would coincide with my travel to a conference in Philadelphia.  So, B has been lucky to get to see first-hand where many of the important events surrounding the being of our nation took place.

She got to see where the Continental Congress met and signed the Declaration of Independence.

Brilliant B and Legohead L got to learn about the Liberty Bell.  They both agreed it was smaller than they anticipated.

We also downloaded this Liberty Bell craft activity.  There is a long string that comes down out of the bottom of the bell and includes a lot of fun Liberty Bell facts.
